A preview of the stories

Drive from Old Fort Erie to Niagara-on-the-Lake through five places connected to the War of 1812. Visit the reconstructed Fort George National Historic Site to explore the 1813 capture; its nearby battlefield cairn and plaque are not open to the public. The route questions the single-hero version of the war and follows the people, battles and later memorials that shaped the Niagara story.
